Terms of use
Last updated: October 8, 2026
These terms apply whenever you use HaulHound. By using the app you accept them. They are short on purpose, so please give them a read.
What HaulHound is, and isn’t
HaulHound identifies second-hand items from a photo, estimates a resale price range, checks your possible profit after fees and shipping, drafts a listing and answers questions about the find. It gives estimates, not appraisals. It doesn’t authenticate items, guarantee a price or a sale, or replace an expert, a certified appraiser or the sold listings of the marketplace you use. It doesn’t post to marketplaces or read live sales data.
Your part
You decide what to buy, what to pay and how to sell. Look the item over before relying on an estimate, review every listing before you post it (fill in the [brackets], say whether you tested it, describe flaws honestly) and follow the rules of your marketplace. You are responsible for local laws on resale, taxes, recalled or restricted goods and buyers’ rights. Only photograph what you are allowed to. HaulHound declines to identify people, animals, weapons, medicines or documents; please don’t try to make it.
Free and Premium
The free version includes the profit check, listings, the find tracker and the month card, with a daily allowance of scans and questions (currently 3 scans and 5 questions a day), one haul, and ads. Premium removes the ads and the daily allowance and adds unlimited hauls and CSV export. The allowance may change; the app always shows what you have left today.
Auto-renewing subscriptions
Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store; its price and period are shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm. It renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and the renewal is charged within those last 24 hours. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays on until the paid period ends. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you subscribe. Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules. On a new device, use Restore purchases in Settings.
Fair use
Premium scans and questions are unlimited for normal reselling. To keep the service healthy for everyone, the server applies a fair-use cap (currently 50 scans and 100 questions a day per device) and may refuse automated, bulk or abusive use. Don’t try to copy, overload or get around the limits of the HaulHound server.
AI answers can be wrong
Identifications, price ranges, demand, verdicts, listings and chat answers come from an AI model looking at a photo. They can be incomplete or wrong about what an item is, who made it, how old it is or what it is worth. Every price is an estimate. Check sold listings and the item itself before you buy, price or sell.
Apple’s standard licence
HaulHound is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), together with these terms. Where the two differ, Apple’s agreement prevails on what it covers. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support.
No warranty
HaulHound is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we can’t promise it will be free of errors, always reachable, or that any estimate, verdict or listing will match what an item really sells for.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make using the app, such as buying an item, setting a price or a sale that doesn’t happen. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for HaulHound in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits consumer rights that can’t be excluded by law.
Third-party services
Some features rely on others: Cloudflare, OpenRouter and Google Gemini for analysis, Google AdMob for ads, Apple and RevenueCat for purchases, and your browser’s search engine for sold-listing searches. Their own terms apply and we can’t control their availability. Brand and marketplace names in answers belong to their owners; HaulHound isn’t affiliated with any marketplace.
Changes
We may update HaulHound and these terms. When the terms change, the date at the top changes too, and using the app afterwards means you accept the new version. Features may change or end, but a period you have already paid for is always honoured.
